Greenwood Coven is a coven founded in the Northside of Brisbane, QLD Australia.
Our style is very simplistic, we seek to study the past, present and future and weave for ourselves a wonderful tradition based on magickal and spiritual practice. In Greenwood, we strive to educate experienced and new witches to become skilled, intelligent Neo-Pagans. We do not believe that there is one path for all, rather we encourage everyone to gleam what they can from our knowledge and found their own tradition or path from this.
Having said this, Greenwood had developed its own unique rituals and rites that shape and define us for who we are. This is the basis of our Witchcraft Tradition. These rituals, however, are performed with respect to the individual Witch’s belief system. Our tradition revolves heavily around the mythos of the ‘Greenwood’ and the continuation of the vitality of nature. We heavily study the cycles of the seasons and earth to better understand the effect and influence on ourselves. As a Pagan coven, our focus is on the divine masculine and feminine principles that govern the natural world. Our mythos revolves around the inspiring, romantic and occasionally tragic dance between our sacred Lady and Lord. We access these beings through various archetypes during ritual and ecstatic-inspired trance. Our coven is one of many out there at the moment who incorporate trance-based possession as a medium of communion with the divine. Greenwood also has a special focus on the Spirit World. A large number of our members are practising mediums or psychics and psychic development is actively encouraged and recommended.
All in all, our coven values friendship, loyalty and compassion. Greenwood is a positive, friendly place for a Witch to grow and experience their Craft with others and the Gods. No opinion is disrespected. No individual is hushed. Greenwood has, over the past few years, become a little family to all of us.
